The first miracle.

Someone asked me recently to describe the shortest verse in the Bible. John 11:35

Jesus wept.

Let’s go into that.

Thinking about weeping. What is it exactly?

I’m sitting in a line up for an oil change. It’s nice to feel the reparative temperature of summer.

Jesus had feelings. Yep, just like us. He was a person, He felt things.

The context for the verse, and it’s powerful description of visible feelings, happened during a difficult situation.

It’s not very often that we truly ask God to raise something from the dead. That’s unheard of.

Yet, here we are presented with a situation that prompted someone with absolute self awareness, seemingly emotional about something.

Weeping.

Jesus knew his power. Why did He cry?

What prompted the weeping?
